Regrowing scallions, leek & Pak choi from cuttings

I never knew that store-bought vegetables are so easy to regrow. It’s sustainable, it’s cheap, and it's convenient. Over the next few weeks, I will be sharing some tips on how to regrow store-bought vegetables and fruits.

Let's start with scallions, leek and pak choi, because they are especially easy to regrow! They just need water and sunlight to grow. When cooking with scallion, for example, you can use everything up to 20 cm from the bottom. You place the bottom part in the water and already after a day you will notice the plant has grown!

I always place the plants in a sunny spot and make sure to change the water every other day. With Pak Choi, it’s best to place it in the ground after the plant has grown roots again. In the ground it can grow to a full-size plant again.

Tip! Scallions stay fresh longer if you store them in water. Place the scallions in water directly after you bought them to keep them fresh!
